Get Involved
Whether you’re committed to becoming a member of the Mountain Communities Volunteer Fire Department (MCVFD) or have a few hours to help with various tasks, there are plenty of ways to get involved with our department. We are extremely thankful for every person and organization who donates their time and/or funds to assist us!
How You Can Help
-
Become a Member
While being a member of MCVFD is physically and mentally challenging, it’s extremely rewarding to save a life or protect property from a fire. No prior experience is required, and we will provide the training you need to respond to medical calls and/or fires. Training is based both on what you’d like to pursue as well as what best fits the needs of our department. If you have a desire to serve, learn, grow, and continuously push yourself, please reach out!
-
Join the Auxiliary
If firefighting or medical response isn’t your calling, there are many other functions and responsibilities that are equally important to keep MCVFD running smoothly. Fundraising, grant writing, office work, equipment maintenance, station cleaning, and meal preparation for responders during long responses and training are all essential. Auxiliary volunteer chair Peggy Strobel can help you find how you can best serve the department and the community.

Partner with Us
Partners are crucial to our department. They sponsor fundraising events and provide much-needed funding to purchase vehicles, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for our members. From $15,000 grants to $10 gift cards, every contribution helps. If your company is interested in donating prizes, issuing grants, helping with events, or any other potential opportunity, please let us know! We appreciate your support and the chance to work with you.
Make a Donation
Our department relies heavily on donations for supplies, gear, vehicles, equipment and much, much more. We greatly appreciate any amount that you can give to help support us!
